  6. DIET-DEAL is inspired by "Richard Simmons Deal-A-Meal Life Plan" and may be
  7. used in conjunction with the same.  Information was gathered from a number
  8. of sources, including The American Dietetic Association.  While I endorse
  9. certain diet plans (including Deal-A-Meal), all information used in this
  10. program is believed to be in the public domain.

  12. No diet plan should be started without first seeking medical advice.  Many
  13. persons have special needs (cholesterol, sodium, etc.) which may not be
  14. taken into account by a general weight-loss program.

  24. EGA or better color video and a mouse are required.

  27. Installing DIET-DEAL:
  28.  
  29. FOR AUTOMATIC INSTALLATION TO 'DRIVE C:' , 'DIRECTORY DIETDEAL'
  30.   From disk:
  31.   1. Place DIET-DEAL disk in Drive A or B
  32.   2. Type A: or B: [enter]
  33.   3. Type DIETIN [enter]
  34.   From BBS:
  35.   1. Change to directory you have loaded files into
  36.   2. Decompress files, if needed (using PKUNZIP)
  37.   3. Type DIETIN [enter]
  38. FOR MANUAL INSTALLATION
  39.   1. Choose (or create) the drive and directory you wish DIET-DEAL to be in
  40.   2. Copy all files (after decompression) to that directory

  43. Running DIET-DEAL:
  44.  
  45. 1. Change to the directory where you have installed DIETDEAL
  46. 2. Type DIET [enter]
  47.  
  48. Using DIET-DEAL:
  49.  
  50. To use DIET-DEAL, first click the right mouse button on the name-bar (it says
  51. Diet-Dealer #1 to start with). You can then enter your name.  Choose whether
  52. your diet should be 1200, 1400 or 1600 calories.  It is pre-set for 1200
  53. calories.  To change, click the left button on the "1200" and follow the
  54. prompt.  Everytime you eat, determine the "price" of your food and move the
  55. appropriate cards to the bottom half of the screen.  Cards are moved by
  56. clicking the left button on the top line of the card.  If you accidentally
  57. move a card, it can be moved back up by clicking it.  If you click the right
  58. button on the top line of the card, you will be shown a detailed close-up
  59. with a list of foods you can "buy" with that card.  When all your cards are
  60. used up, you have finished eating for the day (The "FREE" card always stays
  61. up, since there is no limit to the items on it).  To reset your cards for
  62. a fresh day, click the left button on "Restore All Cards."  If you start to
  63. "pay" for a meal and change your mind, click the left button on "Undo Changes."
  64. Your cards will be restored to the state they were in when you started your
  65. last operation (as long as you only moved cards and did not perform other
  66. operations).  DIET-DEAL can be used by up to five different persons.  Click
  67. the left button on the name-bar to change to "Diet-Dealer #2" and so-on up
  68. to "Diet-Dealer #5."  Enter the names of all your dieters.  All data is
  69. kept seperately and what one person does will not affect another.  All data
  70. is saved to disk when you quit, so there is no need to even keep your
  71. computer turned on between meals.  Click the left button on "Quit" to exit.

  73. This program is Shareware.  You are permitted to use this program for
  74. a reasonable period of time (3 to 4 weeks) on a try-before-you-buy
  75. basis.  If, after that, you find it useful, you are required to
  76. register by sending payment to the author.  Registered users will
  77. recieve, free-of-charge, the latest up-dated version with additional
  78. features.  You will also recieve special offers on other low-cost,
